Biography
The journey I invite you on through this gallery is the result of reflecting on the importance of listening to one's emotions.
Throughout our lives, we are constantly confronted with our moods, our hopes, our fears.
For a long time, I pushed these emotions aside. Not intentionally, but it was like trying to escape them, as if I were afraid of the impact they could have on me and my daily life.
Gradually, it became less and less possible to escape them because I finally found the tools to live with them; I had to wait until I met my husband to help me.
Later, discovering art became a way for me to know myself better and a way to express myself.
Theater, first and foremost, allowed me to express these emotions. I remember grueling rehearsals, but I have always felt a deep gratitude towards my troupe for allowing me to experience those moments. Painting came a little later thanks to Blandine's workshops, but its role proved to be just as therapeutic. At that moment, I needed not just to express these emotions, but to materialize them through a medium I hadn't anticipated. My grandfather and great-uncle were artists through and through, excelling in writing, music, and painting. This is also a way for me to perpetuate their legacy in my own way. To categorize this exhibition, I chose to connect it all with that. It seemed appropriate to use the "States" we work with in theater—namely, Joy, Fear, Anger, and Sadness—to categorize each of my paintings, which also represent the passages of my life and, undoubtedly, of everyone's life. These states are, of course, often nuanced depending on the intensity of the moment experienced, and each person will undoubtedly see their own interpretation. Emotion.
In these "Calls of R," you will, I hope, feel that need we all have at some point in our lives, to shout out the emotions that pull us in different directions but that make us feel alive.
